Guwahati, August 8: Project Associate of Dr Anamika Ray Memorial Trust (ARMT) Subhamoy Bhattacharjee was felicitated by the Trust Chairman Rajat Baran Mahanta today for being awarded the Press Council of India’s “National Award for Excellence in Journalism 2023”.The award was under the “photo feature” category by eminent veteran journalist Ashok Tendon in presence of justice Ranjana Prakash Desai, Judge (Retd.), Supreme Court of India and Chairperson of Press Council of India at a function in New Delhi on Monday evening, 5th August 2024.This was for the first time that a photojournalist from the northeast India has received this award.Press Council of India(PCI), being the central statutory authority in the country that guides for the betterment of journalism in India has recognized his work.
