Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina scheme launched at BHB College

Staff Reporter, Bajali, August 8 : Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday launched an ambitious government scheme, Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Moina Asoni (MMNMA), to provide financial support to female students, thereby aiming to eliminate child marriages in the state. As a part of that initiative, Bhawanipur MLA Phanidhar Talukdar launched the Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina Scheme at B.H.B College on Thursday in presence of Dr. Ashraful Amin, ACS,DDC, Bajali, Sontush Kr. Nath, ALRS, CO (A) & Dr. Ila Bonia, Circle officer, Sarupeta Revenue Circle. The programme was anchored by Dr. Preeti Rekha Dutta, Assistant Professor of the College. Dr. Nayan Jyoti Das, Principal, B.H.B. College highlighted the benefits of Nijut Moina Asoni. The scheme provides financial grants ranging from INR 1,000 to INR 2,500 per month. The first installment is scheduled for release on October 1, 2024. With a budget of Rs. 240 Crore, the scheme is set to benefit thousands of girl students across Assam, encouraging them to remain in school and combatting societal issues like child marriage- Dr. Das added. Dr. Dipti Kalita, Academic coordinator of the college, Deijee Kalita, coordinator of MMNMA along with other faculty members and students beneficiaries were graced the event. The event concluded on a hopeful note, with students and faculty expressing their excitement and gratitude for the opportunities the Nijut Moina Scheme promises to bring.
