BHB College celebrates 53rd foundation day

Staff Reporter, Bajali, July 1: BHB College marked a joyous and vibrant celebration on Monday, as it observed its 53rd foundation day. As a part of the celebration a plantation drive held led by Mofazzal Hussain, former vice-principal of the college, and Upendra Nath Barman, former HoD in the department of Education where faculties and students took part following by paying tribute to the college’s founding members. A meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of Dr Nayan Jyoti Das, principal of the college. At the very beginning of the meeting a condolence was held on the sad demise of Bhargav Jyoti Barman, state level player and former student of the college who lost his life in a tragic road accident recently.
Special invitees, including Dr. Achyut Chandra Das, chairman of the Governing Body; Dr. Chandra Kanta Talukdar, former principal of the college; Dr. Amiya Mahanta, former HoD in the department of Assamese; Dr Rina Rani Deka, former acting principal of the college; Mufazzal Hussain, former vice principal of the college; Suren Sarma, former UDA, Dr Dipti Kalita, vice principal of the college graced the meeting. During their speeches, they reminisce about the college’s history and acknowledge the efforts made by individuals to establish and develop the college. They expressed their delight at the progress and growth achieved by the institution. Addressing the gathering, principal Dr Das emphasised that despite numerous challenges, the college has persevered and made significant contributions to advancing educational values. He noted the various progressive initiatives undertaken for students and the overall development of the college. Dr Das also shed light on the college’s future endeavours in the pursuit of excellence across all educational domains. The event featured captivating cultural performances by college staff.
