SI caught red-handed while taking bribe

Staff Reporter Guwahati, July 1: A sub-inspector (SI) of police was caught red-handed in Assam's Sualkuchi while accepting a bribe of two thousand today at around 8.30 PM. The SI, identified as Jainal Ali, of Sualkuchi PS, was caught red-handed by sleuths of Directorate Vigilance & Anti Corruption while accepting the bribe. As per reports, he asked the complainant to pay Rs 4 thousand to settle a case from Tutumoni Deka. Tutumoni earlier paid Rs. 2 thousand and today she came to pay the remaining Rs. 2000 rupees. Meanwhile, a case has been registered against him under various sections of the IPC and further investigation is on.
