Staff Reporter, Guwahati, July 10: Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah held a meeting and reviewed the status of Jal Jeevan Mission schemes and Swachh Bharat Mission with Zila Parishad CEOs, Additional Deputy Commissioners (PHE) of all the districts of the state and departmental engineers today at Assam Administrative Staff College here. The Minister took note of the status of DPRs, Administrative Approvals, Technical Sanctions and land finalization for the new schemes. The Minister instructed the departmental engineers to speed up the process of completion of the already allotted works. He also briefed the tentative plan to execute 100% implementation of JJM within the stipulated period. As the government is determined to complete the project by the end of 2024. The Minister also thanked Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and said that as per his request arrangements will be made to provide 24-hour water supply to every house through the work to be done in the next phase. He also informed that a "Grievance Redressal System" will be started from August 15 next through which every person will be able to express his grievances and also get detailed details about each project through the mobile application called "Jal Kosh". It is to be mentioned that Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat at Guwahati addressed a press conference on July 6 last. Where he stated that a state like Assam which started with 1% development has now achieved 54% progress under Jal Jeevan Mission.
