Baihata Chariali, July 20: Health & Family Welfare Minister Keshab Mahanta today formally inaugurated Jiyakur Reserve Model Hospital under Chaygaon BPHC. The inaugural function was attended by Hemanga Thakuria, MLA, Palasbari LAC, Avinash P. Joshi, Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, Dr. Kamala Kanta Kalita, Former Health Minister, Govt. of Assam, Dr. M. S. Lakshmi Priya, MD, NHM Assam, Keerthi Jalli, District Commissioner, Kamrup Dr. Nilmadhab Das, Director of Health Services, Dr. Manoj Kr. Chaudhary, ED, NHM Assam, Pankaj Chamuah, OSD, NHM Assam, Dr. M. Benarjee, Joint Director of Health Services, Kamrup and other officials of Health Department. Attending the inaugural ceremony, Hemanga Thakuria, MLA, Palasbari LAC said that the newly constructed Hospital would serve the people of this greater area. So apart from the hospital staff, people of this greater area should take care of this Model Hospital so that the hospital could function well in the days to come. Inaugurating the model Hospital Keshab Mahanta, Health & Family Welfare Minister said that from now onwards people of this greater area would get the health facilities like Normal Delivery, OPD services, Immunization, Emergency Care services in the Jiyakur Reserve Model Hospital. He also said that very soon Cesarean Section Delivery would be started in this hospital. He also said that X- ray facility would be started soon in this hospital. The Health & Family Welfare Minister also said that the Govt. would definitely try to upgrade this hospital at the earliest possible. He also said that till now total 12 number of Medical Colleges in Assam and within 3 years Govt. would increase the number of Medical Colleges to 24. He also said that the Govt. is planning to increase the number of Cancer Hospitals up to 18 nos. He also said that the Govt. is planning for a Health Scheme which would include 90% of the population of Assam for free Health care services and this scheme would be announced very soon. For the benefits of Health Care services, the Health Minister said that Swasthya Sewa Utsav would be organized again during the month of November 2023.
