Fraudster arrested on charge of collecting cash for jobs

Hareswar Bora, Nagaon, July 3: Rintu Hazarika, a resident of Barhampur Putoni area was arrested on charge of collecting cash for jobs from several unemployed youths of the district on Sunday last. Sources at Nagaon police claimed that a team from Nagaon police station caught him red handed while accepting a sum of Rs 10,000 from one Himanshu Dutta of Nonoi area. Sources alleged that the arrested Rintu Hazarika introduced himself to as a close associate of a local BJP MLA and a heavy weight BJP minister to some unemployed youths of the greater Nonoi areas and allegedly collected several lakhs from several unemployed youths of the areas by luring them to provide jobs in various government departments. Meanwhile, he also provided a fake grade iv appointment letter to one Abdul Manan of Nonoi Koshupit area recently for which the victim unemployed youth filed a case at Nagaon police station, sources said. Apart from this, the arrested fraudster Rintu Hazarika also collected a sum of Rs 2,00,000.00 from one Dipak Das and Rs 70,000.00 from Baishisthya Konwar of Nonoi area a few months back for which the victim youths also filed different cases in Nagaon PS, sources stated further.
