Chhaygaon, June 27: An Awareness Meeting on Prevention of Child Marriage and Motivational Speech session was held on June 26 at Dr. Zakir Hussain H.S School, Goroimari under Chhaygaon Constituency. This programme was organized by Chhaygaon BPHC in collaboration with District Health Society, Kamrup. The topic of the awareness camp was -' Child Marriage : Its Causes, impacts and laws to Control.' At this auspicious occasion as a Resource Person Socio-Political Analyst of the state as well as Motivational Speaker Dr. Chinmoy Kalita and Sub -Inspector of CID (Assam) Chitramoni Das were present. In his thought provoking speech Dr.Chinmoy Kalita Said that Child Marriage is a big evil and curse for our society. In Child Marriage where boys and girls are married at the early age when they even dont know anything about marriage, So they faces many difficulties in their future life. He also interacted with students on this sensitive matter and later on all the students collectively took an oath to put an end to this social evil. On the other hand Police Officer Chitramoni Das delivered his valuable speech briefing legal procedures against Child Marriage. The other dignitaries like -Nilakshi Medhi, District Media Expert, NHM (Kamrup); Pranab Kumar Sarmah, District Community Mobilizer, NHM (Kamrup); Dimpi Barthakur, Block Community Mobilizer, NHM (Chhaygaon Block); Chayanika Deka, District Family Planning Coordinator, NHM (Kamrup); Dayananda Kalita, academic incharge of the school ,and other teachers were also present.
