ASDM Empowers 100 Cab Drivers with Skill Training Program

Chinmoy Kalita, Guwahati, June 27: The Minister of Skill, Employment, and Entrepreneurship Jayanta Mallabaruah today attended the Valedictory Ceremony of Upskilling Program organized by ASDM at Guwahati Airport. The program was a collaborative effort between the Assam Skill Development Mission and Ideal Abhijan with the aim of enhancing the skills and improving and enhancing the professionalism of taxi drivers. This initiative intends to specifically focus on improving their communication and interpersonal skills along with digital-financial literacy, knowledge of tourist places of Assam, guidelines of transportation, and other skill development initiatives, which are crucial for success in their profession. Minister Baruah attended the valedictory session to appreciate the hard work of the taxi drivers involved in the program, emphasizing the potential benefits this initiative holds for their future success. In his address, Minister Baruah mentioned that under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma the government has adopted various initiatives for the enhancement of professional ability of the working professionals of Assam. He said that drivers are the brand ambassador and often play a crucial role in creating the first impression when it comes to traveling to a new place, and they serve as the initial point of contact for tourists, providing them with a clear image of the place they are about to explore. Therefore, it's very important for the drivers to be equipped with the knowledge of our state along with different interpersonal skills and this platform will definitely enhance those skills. He added "Every year we have a target for 10000 skilling programs, and everyone should work to develop personal skills." He also urged the trainees to provide their valuable feedback and stated that the department will work on future strategy depending on the feedback of the trainees.
