Golaghat, March 25: “Two hundred years of Assam Tea, 1823-2023”- a Book on Indian tea history by Dr Pradip Baruah presented to Chief Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, today at Guwahati by the Adviser of North Eastern Tea Association (NETA), Bidyananda Barkakoty. This book is a comprehensive account of the tea industry of India for two hundred years since the discovery of tea bushes growing wild in Assam in the year 1823. It depicts the 200 glorious years of Assam Tea in a chronological order. It is to be mentioned that the author of the book Dr Pradip Baruah is a tea researcher, writer and Chief Advisory Officer of Tocklai Tea Research Institute, Jorhat. This book is published by the North Eastern Tea Association (NETA).
