Guwahati, January, 13: Continuing the fight to detect illegal migrants and rohingyas, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway has apprehended six Bangladeshis from Alipurduar Jn. Railway Station while conducting a regular check on January 11 last. On the incident day, the RPF team of Alipurduar Jn. conducted a drive against contraband items and anti-social elements at Alipurduar Jn. Railway Station. While checking they detected 06 persons of doubtful nationality (04 females & 02 males). On interrogation they could not produce any valid documents and later confessed that they entered India illegally from Bangladesh. During the search, fake Indian Aadhar cards, 02 mobile phones and 02 Railway e-tickets of Train no. 13174 (Kanchanjunga Express) ex- Agartala to Sealdah boarding at Agartala were recovered from them. Later all the 06 Bangladeshis were detained with the recovered items and handed over to Officer In-charge/Government Railway Police/Alipurduar Jn. for further legal action. RPF staff deployed at stations and trains are very vigilant and keep a close eye on illegal migrants, rohingyas and suspected persons.
