IIE launches two new products at the Janjatiya Gaurav Divas Celebration

Staff Reporter, Guwahati, November 15: IIE an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship setting up a stall to showcase wide range of produce under brand TRISSAM procured from tribal communities in Aadi Bazar on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas 2022 organised by TRIFED at Lakhidhar Bora Khetra Dighalipukhuri was inaugurated today. The stall was inaugurated by Smt Queen Ojha, MP of Guwahati in the presence of Dr. Lalit Sharma, Director IIE, AD Mishra, Regional Manager (NER), TRIFED, Krishna Dhan Das, MLA Tripura, D Haldar, Regional Director, DCH, Jasodha Chettri Resident Commissioner, Sikkim House, Dr Bhaskar Jyoti Saud, Project Head PMVDY, IIE and other government official and guests. While inaugurating the stall the Queen Ojha, MP also launched two new products ``foxtail millet” and “handmade soap” with its brand-name “TRISSAM'' and a new product-line under the same brand, by the name “TRISSAMFRESH”. Janjatiya Gaurav Divas is being observed to mark the birth anniversary of the revered tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda and remember the contribution of tribal freedom fighters. The new product-line by the name “TRISSAMFRESH” has fresh fruits, vegetable products. In addition to the new products, IIE is also displaying a wide range of products under its brand “TRISSAM”, which have been procured from the beneficiaries supported under the Pradhan Mantri Jan DhanYojana Scheme (PMVDY) that is being implemented in the state, by the institute. IIE has been implementing the scheme as a resource agency on behalf of State Implementing agency-APTDC, sponsored by TRIFED. Under PMVDY, TRIFED has already sanctioned 302 Van DhanVikas Kendras Clusters across the state of Assam, wherein beneficiaries from the tribal communities are trained and supported in their journey to attain a sustainable livelihood.
