Freshman social held at Biswanath College

Staff Reporter, Biswanath Chariali, November 9: Biswanath College, a distinguished higher educational institution in North Assam has witnessed the celebration of Freshman Social for the newly admitted students in Higher Secondary First year, BA First Semester and MA First Semester. Dr. Chintamani Sharma, Principal of the college offered the welcome speech to the newcomers where he expressed how Biswanath College Administration has been maintaining a positive outlook towards enhancing the academic and co-curricular ecosystem in the college. As the Guest of Honour, Dr. Ranjan Kumar Kakoti, Director of Student Welfare, Gauhati University graced the auspicious occasion. In his speech, he delivered his views about the role of morals in students' life, competitiveness in the present day educational system, entrepreneurial opportunities and many others. He concluded his speech by quoting the motivational Book "Can we Fly'' written by C. N. RAO. Kukil Hazarika, Chairman, Biswanath College Governing Body also delivered his speech where he gave impetus on higher studies of the undergraduate students. In the program, awards in the memory of Late Purna Hazarika, retired Principal of the college and late Kamal Parajuli, retired Professor of the college have been offered to the students scoring highest marks in under-graduate examination in the academic year 2020-2021 and 2021-2022. The Program Officers of National Social Service of the nearby colleges also attended the program. Followed by the General Meeting, a Cultural program was organized successfully where the students of the College have showcased their talents. The teaching fraternity of the college as well as the supporting staff were seen to be in active cooperation to the events. Kushal Sharma, General Secretary of BCSU compared the session whereas others office bearers of BCSU actively co-operated in the program.
