Mazbat police recovered huge cache of arms and ammunitions

Staff Reporter, Udalguri, October 31: Police achieved great success in recovering the latest weapon under Mazbat police station in Udalguri. According to reports, No. 1 Sikaridanga village of Mazbat Assam-Arunachal border under Udalguri district, police went in the early morning on October 30 by a secret source of information to No. 1 Sikaridanga village recovered weapons and bullets from a weapon reservoir which was buried under a crater. The team of Assam Police APRG in the leadership of Udalguri district ASP Bidyut Das Boro, recovered the weapon reservoir. In the operation officer in charge of Mazbat police station Rajib Gohain and officer in charge of Lalpani Outpost Kushal Nath also went. The operation team recovered 3 no's AK 47, 6 no's magazine and 620 no's active bullets from the weapon reservoir. Mazbat police case no 50/22 u/s 120B of IPC r/w 25/25(1/A) of Arms Act has been registered and legal action is being taken up. It is not confirmed to which extremist association these weapons recovered from the weapon reservoir. Rajib Gohain, the OC of Mazbat police station, who joined before some days informed the reporters that he will continue the investigation in the area where the weapons were recovered.
