Elephant found dead under mysterious circumstances

Staff Reporter, Tinsukia, October 8: A wild elephant died mysteriously in Margherita Powai Forest village under Digboi forest division on Friday night.The death of the wild elephant, which had come out of the Powai Bongaon reserve forest in search of food, has created a mystery.In the morning, the wild elephant was spotted dead in a tea garden drain of a man from Powai Bongaon area.When the locals informed the forest department about this, the forest department personnel reached the spot and took necessary measures to check the wild elephant.The local people have not been able to take lightly the death of the wild elephant after falling into a one-foot drain in a tea garden. Locals suspect that the wild elephant is at the risk of death due to other reasons and not falling into the drain. However, the circumstances under which the wild elephant had to die will be clear only in the forest department's postmortem report.But this unnatural death of the wild elephant has created a furore across the region.
