Bijoya Sammelan & felicitation held at Basugaon

Staff Reporter, Chirang, October 21: The Bijoya Sammelan was organised in the premises of Durga Temple in Dhanbazar under the initiative of All Basugaon Durga Puja Coordination Committee. Former BTC executive member and current MCLA Derhasat Basumatary inaugurated the function through the lighting of the lamp. The music was performed under the leadership of eminent musician Mridul Das. Soon after, hundreds of people from different societies starting from senior

citizens of Basugaon area, were felicitated with fulam gamosa, arnai and uttaria in line with the vijaya sammelan ceremony. On the occasion eminent teacher and President of Basugaon Station Road Durga Puja committee Pradyot Goswami in his speech explained the significance of The Vijaya Sammelan and highlighted the spiritual aspects of Durga Puja. The group dance performances by little child artists under the supervision of noted dancer Nabanita Dey add another dimension to the event. Former Btc Executive Member and current MCLA of Btc Paniram Brahma, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Chirang Laba Kumar Deka, District President of All BTC Bengali Youth Students Federation Subho Majumder, Dr. Gondeswar Hajong among others were present as invited guests. At the end of the event artists from the musical Band "Loy" invited from Bongaigaon performed music by popular leading singer Debapam Das. Youth social worker Bishal Paul was the host of today's Bijoya Sammelan.
