Hojai, September 14: Security forces have seized a huge amount of Burmese supari in Assam's Hojai district today. The Burmese supari weighing around 1,050 kg was recovered from a truck that was en route Jamunamukh from Hailakandi. There were a total of 70 sacks of Burmese supari. It is learned that the market value of the seized Burmese supari is approximately Rs 15 lakh. Meanwhile, the driver of the truck has been arrested in connection. The arrested driver has been identified as Kalim Uddin. It needs to be mentioned that 78 bags of Burmese supari were seized earlier yesterday from a mini truck intercepted at Lanka near Bamungaon. Meanwhile, four persons were arrested in connection. Arrested persons have been identified as Abdul Salam, Nazrul Islam, Narul Haque and Nurul Haque.
