Nagaon, September 29: Khagarijan College, Nagaon ceremonially 'Nabyabaran 2022' at the college premises to welcome the freshers of the college today. The programme was initiated with the unfurling of the flag of the institution by Dr Ramesh Nath, principal of the college following which the local MLA Rupak Sarma inaugurated the renovated central library of the college. In the 'Nabyabaran' programme, Dr Ramesh Nath, principal of the college welcomed the freshers and urged the senior students fraternity of the college to guide the freshers so that the freshers could focus on studies for a better future. Attending the programme as the chief guest, local MLA Rupak Sarma said that education is the most important treasure for an individual and the merit is the ladder to reach the mark of success. It is not the era of corruption and backdoor dealings for government jobs. The government has stressed on providing job opportunities only to the merits, he accorded further in his speech. Sarma also declared his willingness to provide an auditorium in the college premises soon. Sarma also ceremonially released the college magazine 'Amritdhara' during the programme. Retired principals of the college like Arun Bikash Dutta, Selima Sultana Khandakar were also present in the 'Nabyabaran' programme today which came to a conclusion with a colourful cultural programme in the afternoon, a release added.
