Hindi Diwas celebrated at Biswanath College

Staff Reporter, Biswanath Chariali, September 14: Biswanath College, a leading higher educational institution of the North bank of Assam, celebrates Hindi Diwas with a wide range of programmes today. The event was organized by the Hindi Department and the guests of honor were Shankar Prasad Sahu, retired Hindi teacher of Kharasimalu Higher Secondary School and Santosh Mahato, assistant teacher of Pratapgarh TE Adarsh ​​Higher Secondary School. The program began with lighting of earthen lamps by Dr. Chinta Mani Sharma, Principal of Biswanath College. Addressing the occasion, Dr. Sharma briefly traced the history of Hindi Divas. He highlighted why knowledge of Hindi is needed nowadays. Guest Shankar Prasad Sahu in his speech highlighted various aspects of Hindi language at present and urged everyone to embrace Hindi language. The event was attended by students from various departments of the college. Professor Gita Verma, Head of Hindi Department, Biswanath College, concluded the meeting by emphasizing on increasing the popularity of Hindi language. The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Naresh Thakur, Head of English Department, Professor Leena Hazarika, Head of Political Science Department, Professor Hem Kumar Gautam, Head of Nepali Department, Assistant Professor Dipjyoti Nath and Bishnu Devi beside others.
