Biswanath Chariali, September 23: The climate strike was held at Chengamari High School under Biswanath district today as part of the International Campaign for a Future. In this connection, an awareness procession was taken out that was inaugurated by Omprakash Mahati ,the President of the School Management Committee. After the procession, an open meeting was held at the post office square of Chengamari village. The meeting was attended by Dhiren Bora, headmaster of Chengamari High School and Ashok Hazarika, assistant teacher of the school as guests. The awareness meeting was attended by Shusanta Das, senior teacher of the school, Kalen Daimari, Hiranya Boro, Amit Boro, Achyut Bora and Pallavi Mahati of the Chengamari Youth Society. All the proceedings of the programme were conducted by Ripunjay Bordoloi, science teacher of Chengamari high school. Addressing the gathering, Bordoloi said that the Friday Campaign for an International Future was launched by a Swedish teenage student and environmentalist Greta Thunberg in 2018. And presently, the international campaign for a secure future has become an internationally acclaimed campaign for a secure and safe environment. This year, All India People's Science Network (AIPSN) has decided to celebrate this day September 23, he added.
