4th Dr. Sagar Boruah endowment lecture held at Khagarijan College

Bureau Report, Nagaon, September 16: Department of History, Khagarijan College, Nagaon today organized the 4th Dr Sagar Boruah endowment lecture. Dr Chandan Kumar Sharma, associate professor, department of history, Dibrugarh University graced the occasion as chief resource person and delivered the keynote lecture on 'New History of India's Partition: A Historiographical Study'. Dr Dilip Bora, professor, Department of Modern Indian Languages, Gauhati University chaired the session while Dr Ramesh Nath, principal of the college delivered the welcome address and laid stress on the importance of awareness of history of its nation as well as country. In his lecture, Dr Chandan Kumar Sharma elaborated on various consequences and implications of partition and highlighted the confusions as well as turmoil of the common people. The lecture was followed by an interactive session where various aspects like border disputes, plight of people, alienation and other were also elaborated in detail. Over hundred participants including students, faculty members, and principals of various colleges were present in the programme, a release added.
