3 ULFA linkman apprehended in Digboi

Staff Reporter Tinsukia, September 14: The police and the Indian Army conducted a joint operation and managed to arrest three youths on suspicion of being ulfa's linkmen.Bordumsa, Pengeri and Digbai police stations under Tinsukia district carried out the operation with the help of the Indian Army. These three youths had frequent links with ulfa leader Rupam Axom. The arrested youths are Harkant Maran(24) son of Dipen Maran of Bordumsa Ratni Pathar village, Kalia Dahotia(36) son of Muhidhar Dahotiya of Mili Ritupathar village, and Diplav Phukan(27)son of Pulin Phukan of Bordumsa.All the three youths were detained by the Indian Army and police from their respective homes.A case has been registered under Section 396 of the Indian Penal Code under Section 396/2022 of the Indian Penal Code against the youths for extortion of money, robbery and involvement of ulfa as linkmen.Police have kept 3 youths under detention in their custody for 4 days to recover more information.At present, 3 arrested youths are being held at Digboi police station and undergoing marathon interrogation.
