Kakopather, August 12: Troops of Red Shield Division celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with School Children, NCC cadets and Veer Naris at Kakopather in Tinsukia. Apart from tying Rakhis, applying tilak and sharing sweets the festival was also celebrated with nationalist fervour with display of Tiranga flags. A joint commitment for security, peace and togetherness was on display.The event was attended by the students and NCC cadets of nearby Colleges and schools apart from local ladies. Four Veer Naris of the nearby areas also attended the event namely Smt Niru Gogoi wife of Late Naik Dirna Gogoi, Smt Shewali Gohain wife of Late Sep Rajeshwar Gohain, Smt Ruhuma Neog wife of Late Naik Probin Neog and Smt Pholma Chetia wife of Late Naik Harupuna Chetia.The event was lauded by the locals and they have also left the messages for the frontline soldiers. Local student bodies, ladies and Gaon Buras thanked the Indian Army for their service and were very ecstatic to have participated in the event.
