Guwahati, August 12: Raksha Bandhan festival was celebrated with great pomp in the traditional form at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya located in Dhubri district today. During this time, all the girls applied tilak to the boys and tied the sacred silk thread on their wrists. Speeches and songs etc. were also presented showing the importance of Raksha Bandhan to introduce the children of the school to their glorious culture. Speaking at the event, school teacher Dr Jeetendra Pratap said that Rakhi for Raksha Bandhan is a festival that gives importance to the world's holiest relationship. This festival not only inspires us to respect our sister, but also teaches us to protect and respect every girl in society. Principal Dinesh Prasad and all the teachers and children of the school were present in this program.
