Poor road conditions of Ketetong-Bongaon link road pose threat to commuters

Bikash Baruah, Tinsukia, August 19: No matter how much the government doesn't cover up the development of roads in rural areas of Assam, in reality, development has not been able to touch the rural areas.Even after 75 years of independence but during the monsoon, roads in many rural areas of Assam remain completely unfit for traffic.Development of rural areas is only a false propaganda of the government.During the monsoons, the roads in most rural areas of Assam are united with the fields. The fish becomes pits on the streets. In fact but the picture of development in rural areas is very bleak. One such dilapidated road is the Ketetong-Bongaon link road. The road under Digboi assembly constituency in Tinsukia district has become completely unfit for traffic due to potholes in the middle of the road.Half of the road has been paved but half of it has not been paved till date. For half of the road that has not been paved, the public has to suffer the pain of Yama. Especially the students who travel to and from schools and colleges, as well as pregnancy women were facing a lot of difficulties. With the water coming out of the field breaking down many parts of the road and creating potholes, it has become absolutely impossible for the road to play any kind of vehicles. Therefore, the call of the local people to Digboi MLA Suren Phukan is to make the remaining portion of the road paved at the earliest and make the transportation system smooth.
