Nagaon, August 9: In a joint venture, Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the historic Nowgong College (autonomous) and Biotic and Environmental Research institute, Tripura in association with ICAR - Central Agroforestry Research Center and Society for Advancement of Agricultural Investment organized a two day long Biotic Congress 2022 as well as an international conference on 'Recent Advances in Agricultural, Biological and applied Sciences Research since Monday last at Nowgong College. The Congress as well as the international conference concluded this evening here. Over 200 participants from 21 states of India and abroad countries like the United States of America, Malaysia and Indonesia participated in the Congress and the conference so far. During the programme, over 58 verbal research papers, 10 poster research papers and 42 research papers were recited by scholars, scientists and other researchers as well as research students through online mood. Besides, during the programme, 5 farmers and 5 research scholars also elaborated their successful journeys in their respective fields, a release added. The programme was inaugurated by Mridul Hazarika, vice chancellor of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev Vishwavidyalaya while Dr Sarat Borkatoki, principal of Nowgong College delivered the welcome address. In the closing function held on Tuesday, Professor BN Hazarika, Dean of Horticulture and Forestry, HK Bhattacharya principal scientist, Livestock Research Station, Kamrup were present as chief and special guests respectively. During the programme, several awards including award for PhD research papers, best scientist award and Kishan Sirumoni Award initiated by the organizing bodies, were presented to the concerned awardees too. The programme was anchored by Dr Bhuban Chandra Chatia and Dr Pranab Dutta, the release added further.
