District administration ready to celebrate “Amar Majuli”

Staff reporter, Majuli, August 26: The Majuli District Administration is making extensive preparations to celebrate Majuli District Day for three days from September 6 to 8 next. The meeting was chaired by District Commissioner Pulak Mohanta at the auditorium of the District Commissioner's office on Friday. The meeting was attended by all top officers of the district administration, Superintendent of Police, Principals of various colleges, District Journalists Association, District Sports Association, national organisations, NGOs and leading personalities of the district. In addition, the district administration has called for lighting of lanterns and holding Namprasanga in all Satras, Namghar and Temples in the district during the days of celebration of the District Day. The three-day program will include a cleaning campaign at 7 am, flag hoisting at 10 am and departmental programs at Zonal Development Office level and Anganwadi Centres. Various programs will also be conducted in other government offices and educational institutions. There will be an exhibition of science and arts by educational institutions on September 7 next. The district sports department will conduct traditional games and departmental programs at 11 am and blood donation camp and health check-up camp will be conducted by the office of the district joint director of health services. A meeting under “Our Majuli'' will be held at Bangaon at 11.30 am .There will be a cultural procession at 10.30 am, inauguration of Adarsh ​​Anganwadi Center at 11 am, inauguration of Amrit Sarovar scheme, blood donation camp and health check-up camp. The Mukali Shabha will be held at 12.30 pm. There will also be a cultural program at 2.30 pm, Bhaona at 4 pm and all government and non-government offices, educational institutions, residences, Anganwadi centres, Namghar etc. will be illuminated from 6 pm.
