Biennial session of district AJYCP held at Puranigudam

Bureau Report, Nagaon, August 1: The 21th biennial session of district body of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad was held with a day-long programme at Puranigudam Bapuji Library auditorium field on Sunday last. The programme was initiated with the unfurling of the flag of the state youths' organization by Deepmoni Bora, the outgoing district president of the organization following which a tree plantation drive was conducted by the organization at the premise of the auditorium. The plantation drive was inaugurated by Pulin Hazarika, president of Bapuji Library and auditorium management committee. The 'representative meet' was inaugurated by Rana Pratap Boruah, the state president of the organization while central executive Pulak Bora graced the occasion as special guest. During the meeting, an executive body with 45 members led by Pragjyotish Bonia and Debasish Das respectively as the president and general secretary of the district unit was formed for the next session. The session concluded with a colourful cultural programme in the evening. The cultural programme was inaugurated by Rana Pratap Boruah, the state president of the organization. Pragjyotish Bonia and Debasish Das respectively the new president and secretary of the district unit, however ascertained that the stand of the organization against the proposed big dam power projects across the state, would be the same and remained unchanged. The new body of the organization would go ahead with the same enthusiasm in the days to come and would level the same voice that the organization raised earlier against those hydro electric power projects being initiated by the government across the state, a release added.
