'Fifth Hand Wife' by Neelim Akash Kashyap released

Guwahati, Aug 21: A bestselling author of Assamese literature, Neelim Akash Kashyap, has released his new novel recently. Talking to media persons here today, Kashyap informed that the novel is based on an unbelievable tradition of India. The novel has been titled 'Fifth Hand Wife'. Just after publishing the novel, 'Fifth Hand Wife' has been able to hit the global stores also. The novel is based on the molki tradition, earlier practiced in various parts of India like Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, etc. Molki is the unbelievable tradition of bride buying, where brides are being sold at a lower price than cows and goats. The newly published novel 'Fifth Hand Wife' is a tragic life story of a molki. Laxmi, a young girl, who became the victim of woman traffickers by the phony act of love, was sold as a molki. Being molki, she was sold to several men one after another and even she was the one who had to become the wife of her son. The novel has become a source of attraction for the readers. According to sources, readers outside India are also showing positivity towards the novel. The novel, published by well-established traditional publisher 'Redgrab',  is now available on numerous major bookstores of the country as well as e-platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, Kindle, Google Books, Kobo, etc. It is globally available on Kindle. It may be mentionable here that the Assam living bestselling young novelist Neelim Akash Kashyap has debuted himself in the greater Indian English literature through the book 'Fifth Hand Wife'. Apart from his bestselling Assamese novel 'Xonor Kharu Kolijar Saa', Kashyap has penned down 12 books, including 7 novels in Assam literature. On the other hand, another Assamese writer Pinak Pani Basistha also took his first step in  English literature through the same novel. Nalbari living Pinak Pani Basistha entered the field as the editor of the same novel 'Fifth Hand Wife'. The novel “Fifth Hand Wife” is a public awareness work against human trafficking. So there's a strong belief that the novel will bring a lot of change regarding the molki tradition.
