CM Dr. Sarma holds meeting with Revenue Department

 


Dispur, Aug 21 : Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today held a meeting with the officials of Revenue & Disaster Management Department to discuss various issues for streamlining the revenue administration of the State. Issues like survey of non-cadastral villages, drafting service rule and inter district transfer of lot mandals, simplification of partition of ejmali patta and hereditary transfer of land etc. were discussed during the meeting. Advocating for total reforms of State’s revenue administration, the Chief Minister asked the department to complete all pending partition and mutation cases in a mission mode by opening a portal, organizing Rajah Adalat etc. within the next few months. For that, a mission namely “Mission Basundhara” would be launched on October 2 this year, the Chief Minister said. Dr. Sarma further stressed on solving all such pending matters within May 10, 2022, which will mark the first anniversary of the present government. Chief Minister Dr. Sarma also asked the department to expedite the process of cadastral survey of all remaining non-cadastral villages and to detail survey of lands in 27 districts of Assam excluding the sixth schedule areas. He directed the department to achieve the goal of completely digitizing the land records of the state within 2023. Issues of inter-district transfer of lot mandals were also discussed in the meeting. The Chief Minister directed the Revenue department to draft a new Service Rule of the lot mandals for hassle-free execution of transfer and postings within a stipulated time. Principal Secretary of Revenue & Disaster Management Department Avinash Joshi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Samir Kumar Sinha, Director of Land Records and Surveys etc. Gyanendra Dev Tripathi and other senior officers of the Revenue & Disaster Management Department were present in the meeting.
