Barpeta Road 26 July: 64th Bn Sashastra Seema Bal, Barama Camp at Howly, under 'Mega Tree Plantation Campaign-2021' of Sericulture Department, High School Football Ground, Veterinary Department and plantation on both sides of the road and 64 Bn Under the 'Mega Tree Plantation Campaign', saplings were also planted in BOP located on the Bhutan border, in this campaign a total of 2500 saplings were planted, under this campaign, it was told by Nand Kishore Tamta, Commandant, 64th Bn SSB, that today Mega tree plantation was done by the Hon'ble Home Minister in the Assam Rifles camp in Cherrapunji (Meghalaya) and a message was given to all the paramilitary forces to plant trees extensively. On this occasion, Tamta while addressing the villagers and jaw and said that a massive plantation program is being organized by the 64th Bn during the rainy season, the unit has got the target of 15500 tree plantations from the higher headquarters, which has been given by the Unit for long life, fruitful and weather friendly. The plantation is being done not only in the border area but also in the villages around the Bn Headquarters. SSB is not only performing the duty of security guard but also environmental protector and protector. Under the leadership of Commandant of 64th Bn Nand Kishore Tamta, 550 saplings were planted near the picnic spot Kala river in which not only the soldiers participated but also the villagers of the border area took part, besides other B. O.P. Tree plantation drives have been done at different places in Sukhanjuli, Uttarkuchi, Patkijuli, Aamguri and Dara in the area of responsibility.
On this occasion, Nand Kishore Tamta, Commandant, 64th Bn, Asha Tamta, President, Sandiksha 64th Bn, Sandeep Poonia, Deputy Commandant, Abhishek Assistant Comdt, Ashok Kumar, Assistant Commandant (Communication) Prabhakar and the Bn personnel and their family members of the force were also present.
