Guwahati, July 25: Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati an organization under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India organized eight days residential training and certification programme for SVEP-BPMs from July 18-25. The program sponsored by Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India aimed at providing in-depth knowledge about the Implementation of the Startup Village Entrepreneurship Programme and creation of micro and nano enterprises in rural India, Participants from Assam, Nagaland, Sikkim, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, and Bihar took part in the program. Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India recognized Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati as National Resource Organisation (NRO) for Supporting & Implementation of Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP), and the sub-scheme under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) programme supports the Self-Help Group (SHG) and their family members to set-up small enterprises in the non-farm sector. State Rural Livelihoods Mission (SRLM) is the implementing agency for the project. SRLM will work hand in hand with the National Resource Organization (NRO) for implementation of the program. In order to felicitate the participants IIE organized a valedictory program on 25 July, 2022 at its premise. While addressing the gathering Dr. Lalit Sharma, Director IIE congratulated the participants on successful completion of the training programmme and motivated the BPMs to incorporate their learning in the field. He also described the importance of the BPM in implementation of the SVEP program, and the importance of SVEP in promoting rural entrepreneurship in India. Dr. Sriparna B. Baruah, Sr. Faculty Member and Head, CIE, IIE briefed about the objectives and importance of the training programme and highlighted how SVEP is one of the flagship programmes in changing the rural livelihood and economy in the country in the coming future. Director and representatives of National Mission Management Unit (NMMU) DAY-NRLM, MoRD were also present online in the session and addressed the participants. The programme concluded with feedback from the participants and experience sharing.
